Managed IT Services Essentials is hosted and managed by NetCraftsmen. Agents, deployed as virtual appliances, are provisioned in your enterprise network by the NetCraftsmen Service Delivery team. Working closely with our client, the team can deploy the enterprise agent(s) in as little as 24-hours and start producing meaningful value in seven days.

Clients can choose between the NetCraftsmen Network Management Solution (NMS) environment deployed in AWS or the environment deployed in AWS GovCloud.

Challenges

Enterprise IT and network teams that leverage an on-premises NMS solution typically find that they are expending a significant portion of their IT budget on the care and feeding of the NMS solution itself by paying for licensing, software maintenance, and ongoing support contracts. In order to get maximum value out of the NMS solution, clients must additionally dedicate technical resources to ensure the solution is providing the desired results. Most clients are able to operate their NMS but they are unable to take full advantage of its capabilities due to resource constraints.

Introducing Essentials

The NetCraftsmen Managed IT Services Essentials service leverages the same powerful SaaS solution that NetCraftsmen provides in their Craftsmen Assurance® managed service but it is specifically tailored to focus on the essential operational needs of our clients.

Clients subscribed to the Essentials service can easily scale their solution to include other Craftsmen Assurance® products — such as Lifecycle Services, Cloud Monitoring Services, and our full MSP suite, which includes a 24×7 NOC and a fully integrated ITSM platform.

Essentials provides the following benefits to our clients:

  • Supports a rapid deployment model.
  • A carrier grade offering that brings all of the core NMS features into a single product with a consistent solution design, avoiding the scalability and usability issues that are inherent with product “suites” built through acquisition.
  • NetCraftsmen administers, maintains, and fully supports the NMS toolset. Services include:
    • Creating dashboards
    • Creating reports
    • Refining performance measurements to suit client needs
    • Configuring alert and notification facilities to ensure your Operations Center doesn’t miss an event
  • Allows the client to maintain their own IT operations center and ITSM for incident and problem management
  • Annual subscription with predictable monthly service fees.

In addition to these benefits, clients will have access to our subject matter expertise in IP Networking, Cyber Security, SD-WAN, Data Center, Virtualization, Collaboration and Unified Communications in simple to consume packages. Our operations team, which includes 16 CCIEs, are available to provide escalation support to your IT operations organization on a per-incident basis. Clients may also take advantage of our Advanced Engineering Services program if they require additional staffing support.

Features

The NetCraftsmen Managed IT Services Essentials NMS includes the following features and capabilities:

  • Inventory of managed elements (up to 100 devices included in Essentials)
  • Active polling using ICMP, TCP service monitoring, SNMP, and WMI
  • Performance monitoring and historical trending
  • Topology mapping using “Weather Maps”
  • Event collection using active polling, SNMP Traps, and Syslog
  • Configuration backups for network elements, including historical tracking and automatic backups when configuration changes are detected in the environment

Additional NMS features and additional managed devices are available in our Essentials+ packages and our Craftsmen Assurance® offerings. Adding new features and scaling the environment is non-disruptive and seamless.
