Designing for vPC, FEX, and Datacenter Virtualization

c-mug_logoFor the Feb 2012 C-MUG, Dr. Pete Welcher (CCIE #1773 and CCSI #94014) discussed data center virtualization technologies. Pete’s talk helped provide networking professionals with a better understanding of how to use virtualization technoloy in the data center to save time and money.

The session focused on virtualization technologies that you can apply in the aggregation and access layers of your data center. It provided a foundation of detailed vPC design information, and built upon this foundation with the hows and whys to include the 1000v/1010, Adapter-FEX, and VM-FEX technologies in your data center. Pete also included some FCoE design recommendations for the datacenter.
