Rick Barton

Senior Engineer I

My career began at the ISP level, where I developed skills and techniques required for thorough and efficient troubleshooting of wide area networks.  As ISP’s struggled to keep up with increased bandwidth needs, I learned the value of scalable network design. I then expanded my efforts into the commercial enterprise sector working for a managed services provider, successfully implementing LAN/WAN solutions for scores of organizations. The enterprise sector gave me the opportunity to develop my firewall skills, not only to address security concerns but also to meet the required compliances the industry demanded. In recent years, I have contributed to the design and deployment of multi-tenant datacenter security solutions utilizing RFC-6598 to accomplish network transparency with optimal operational support.

It is worth noting that throughout my career, I have leveraged my programming and scripting skills in efforts that have yielded a broad and diverse set of tool suites such as monitoring & alerting, NOC tools & dashboards, and configuration generators..
