Senior Engineer I

Vernon is an 18-year DoD contractor with prior Air Force experience running long haul communications and traditional WAN/LAN networks during his time in service.  As a contractor, he transitioned from traditional network operations roles to engineering and then consulting.  His consulting work focuses on routing and switching, security and data-center technologies.

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) - Routing & Switching
  • CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner+ (CASP+)

NetCraftsmen is known throughout the industry as having deep expertise in a wide variety of classic technologies, and for begin on the leading edge of design and deployment of new technologies.  Vernon always wanted to work with the best and brightest in the sector, so when the opportunity and the challenge to join the NetCraftsment team presented itself, had to take it.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT YOUR JOB?

The variety of customers, different technologies and problems to solve is what Vernon appreciates most about the work.  Nothing will keep you sharp like having to adapt to new engineering challenges.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO OUTSIDE OF WORK?

Golf. Lots and lots of golf, some media/video production and editing. Really into craft coffee—not a “coffee snob”, but a “coffee enthusiast”.
