Carl King

Senior Engineer I

I’ve been in the industry roughly 25 years. In the early days a road warrior, covering desktop, server, and networking in Gov’t contracting. Route/switch is of course the foundation of it all, but the last 5 years have been mostly about enterprise wireless, Prime infrastructure, and Identity Services Engine. Lately you’ll find me doing a lot of 802.1x, and wireless deployments.

WHY NETCRAFTSMEN?

Netcraftsmen is a team of engineers that both enjoy what they are doing, and are driven to be the best. Not because we’re competitive, it’s just in our blood. The biggest reason I enjoy being a Netcraftsmen is because everyone helps everyone. Sharing what we know amongst ourselves, or helping our fellow Netcraftsmen makes us all great.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT YOUR JOB?

The thing I enjoy the most is digging into a technology, understanding it in-depth. Every one of our clients not only presents unique problems to solve but they also present us with unique learning opportunities.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO OUTSIDE OF WORK?

You’ll find my lovely wife and I in Philly on weekends. I bought a historic warehouse there 5 years ago and turned it into both a second home and a shop to service my classic car addiction. We both enjoy weekend jaunts to flea markets, architectural salvage shops, car shows, and swap meets.
